That sentence is like mixing water w/ oil lol. By the time you invest in a super or turbo-charger, you already had to have replaced a lot of vital engine components. The chargers themselves are $3000 and up, and who knows whether that little engine can take all that extra power. When you add a super/turbo charger, you're changing the compression ratio, putting huge stress on the engine components, the crank, cam, valves, push-rods, rockers. You'd prolly have to upgrade all of them just to keep that little engine from tearing itself apart, it's only designed to handle factory specifications, heat ranges, and tolerances.
I think most ppl on here will agree, sinking money into the 4-banger is like sinking money into the Dana35. It'll get you what you want somewhat, but you could've done it right the first time 'round.
The best you can do $ wise for more hp is: Cold air intake, 4.0 throttle body upgrade, throttle body spacer ring, top-end spark plugs and ignition wires. But other than that you're talking about some serious dough, but hey if you have the money...
