Default the Z71 resurrection

well I haven't touched my jeep.... well that's a lie... i snatched a grease rag off of the hood this afternoon....

latest project is a 1994 Z-71 Extended cab

I gave $500 bucks for it.... its fairly straight, I only saw two parts that will need some work, i was last tagged in 2006 and was limited to pasture driving to feed horses until it "just quit running"

the good:
Z71 extended cab

the bad:
the guy I bought it off of doesn't turn wrenches... so it lacked a proper maintenance schedule other than oil changes....

He is the second owner, bought it in 2000 it had approximately 60k on it.

He told me he had it checked out and was told that it needed a battery cable... which it might... but I aired up the tires, stuck in a battery, and shut off the passenger side readling lamp then drove it the 60 miles home...

check list:
power steering leak
exhaust system
A/C repair
overall engine maintenance (oil change, belts)
tune up
tires
paint job (has the 90's model flaky white paint job)
radio
running lights didn't work in the rear

so far Ive replaced the high pressure hose on the power steering, and fixed the brake lights. Tomorrow AM its going to the exhaust shop then on to my shop to look at the AC and do the tune up..

I really missed having a truck and feel like I fell into a really good deal on this truck... had to pay excise tax on 3600.00 blue books 4800 to 5200 after I get it back into good working order...... probably the first time I have ever come out ahead on a vehicle in my life....

ill take some pictures tomorrow after I leave the exhaust shop

and now the AC is fixed... it held a vacuum, but after i put the R134 to it i noticed it leaking around the front of the compressor...... could be a dry seal, or could be the cause of the leak... either way it's blowing about 40 degrees
