Default TF 727 swap to 242 jeep 4.0 engine

i just got a 1998 jeep GC with straight l6 engine, with broken automatic transmission-and at the same time i have a brand new 727 automatic tansmission was boilted to 318 v8 dodge ram van model 1990. My question is can i bolt this transmission (727)to the jeep l6 .?

first thing to come to mind for an answer is "was" the van a 4x4?
second, is the jeep 2wd?

I have heard the bellhousing part of the transmission is different between the dodge and Amc versions. The internals are the same but thats it.

I could be wrong though.

The van where i got the transmission from is not 4x4 and the Jeep i got also not 4x4 ----thanks Juggernot

then the "only problem" i see would be finding a bell housing that will bolt onto both the tranny & the engine.
